Homing Process
At Selah Springs Puppies, we’re passionate about both our puppies and the families who welcome them home. Nothing brings us more joy than helping families find a puppy who truly fits their lifestyle, expectations, and heart. We believe finding the right puppy is about more than choosing a color, coat, or gender. It’s about finding a companion whose temperament, energy level, size, and needs are a good fit for your family. Our process is designed to help us get to know you, understand what you’re looking for, and ultimately make the best possible match.
STEP 1. Complete Our Puppy Application
The first step is to complete our online Puppy Application. This gives us an opportunity to learn more about you, your family, your lifestyle, and what you’re hoping for in your new puppy.
Please not that, before completing the application, we ask that you take some time to explore our website and become familiar with our breeding program, how our puppies are raised, our policies, and what makes Selah Springs Puppies unique. Please take your time and answer each question honestly and thoughtfully. There are no “perfect” answers, we simply want to get to know you!
Once we receive your application, we’ll review it and reach out to continue the conversation and answer any questions you may have.
We’ll want to learn about things like:

Your family and household

Your lifestyle and daily routine

Your previous experience with dogs

Other pets in your home
-
Your preferences for size, coat, gender, and energy level

What temperament you feel would be the best fit for your family

Your expectations for raising, training, grooming, and caring for your puppy

2. Reserve Your Puppy
Once your application has been reviewed and we've gotten a chance to have a phone conversation, you can reserve your place on an upcoming litter's waiting list.
To reserve your spot, you’ll complete our Puppy Purchase Contract and submit your deposit via Venmo. Once we have received both, you’ll officially be added to the waiting list for your chosen litter.
3. Puppy Matching & Selection
One of the most exciting parts of the process is getting to meet the puppies! As the puppies grow, we’ll spend time getting to know each of their individual personalities, temperaments, energy levels, and unique characteristics. We use this information, along with what we’ve learned about your family through the application process, to help guide the matching process. At about 5 weeks, when it’s time to meet the puppies, you’ll have the opportunity to spend time with them and see their personalities firsthand. We want you to fall in love with your puppy, but we also want to help make sure the puppy you choose is one who will thrive in your home. Final puppy matching with happen at 8 weeks at Go-Home Day.
4. Go-Home Day!
The day you’ve been waiting for is finally here! Your puppy will be ready to leave our care and begin life with your family. We’ll send you home with everything you need to get started, along with information about your puppy’s care, feeding, training, and transition into their new home. And then the fun really begins! Your new puppy is officially yours, and your journey together begins with plenty of puppy snuggles, laughter, learning, and memories.

Our relationship with our puppy families doesn’t end when your puppy leaves our home. We want to be a resource for you throughout your puppy’s life and are always happy to answer questions, celebrate milestones, and cheer you on along the way. We’re not just finding puppies homes... we’re helping families find their newest family member.
